There are many types of contact lenses manufactured for vision correction. Lenses for regular nearsightedness or farsightedness, astigmatism, bifocals, reading vision, corneal reshaping, and treatment of eye disease. Contact lenses can be soft or gas permeable (hard lenses). Soft lenses are made for daily wear or overnight wear.  Below are some good examples of lenses we use at Eyedentity for the correction of these various conditions:
Extended wear/continuous wear/flex wear contact lenses:
With these types of contact lenses, minimal care and minimal solutions are required.  Convenience, versatility, and clear vision 24/7 are great reasons to consider this type of contact lens wear. Dr. Cuthbertson can make an excellent recommendation on which type and which brand of contact lens will best suit your needs and be the most healthy by carefully evaluating lenses on your eyes before prescribing.

Daily wear soft contacts are the number one prescribed contact lens type available. Daily wear contacts come in all shapes and sizes and colors. Highest quality, comfort, ease-of-use, handling, and most importantly, a healthy and comfortable fit are qualities we look for in the daily wear contacts we prescribe for our patients. Dr. Cuthbertson will review your specific needs, past history with contacts, and lifestyle activities to find the perfect fit for you.

Bifocal contact lenses:
There have been fantastic recent advances in contact lenses for persons over 40 that have difficulty with reading. Bifocal contact lenses come in both soft and gas permeable varieties, depending on the reading demand and astigmatism correction that is necessary for sharp vision. Dr. Cuthbertson has always been a leader in fitting these types of contacts as soon as, or in some cases before they are even available to the general community. We've had great success in fitting bifocal contacts, and would love to try a pair on you today. Come and see how you can get rid of those pesky, cheap reading glasses.

Contact lenses for astigmatism:
Astigmatism is when the eye has an uneven curvature, and it is actually quite common. Properly correcting astigmatism provides the very sharpest in vision, especially at night, or driving in the rain. We take great lengths to accurately measure and correct astigmatism, using computer measurements, modified exam technique, and an instrument called a corneal topographer. A topographer precisely measures the entire corneal surface, creating a map to be used to prescribe just the right amount of astigmatism correction in glasses and contacts. Taking this measurement is easy, noninvasive, and just like snapping a picture of the eye. Eyedentity is one of the few eyecare offices in the area which carries this advanced technology. Come in and you'll see the important advantage using the latest technology makes when correcting your astigmatism.

Colored contacts:
Change your eye color for a day, or just create that great new image you're looking for by trying some colored contacts. Daily wear disposables and plenty of trial lenses make it really easy for you try a couple of different looks. Make an appointment to give them a try today.
